I got to show this off
This ia going in a 1984 Monte Carlo.
I usually just build basic mild SBC, but this guy wanted all chrome and polished Alum. It is a really nice looking motor, but I rather have a little brushed Alum stuff instead. We got him all chrome Accessories and a $850 BeCool polished radiator with all the bells and whistles. Billet Specialties brackets with all the accessories chrome also.
He is going to go all new interior and body paint. I will keep you posted.
He also has a 1986 and 1987 Monte Carlo SS.
I don't have many friends and I had to show somebody. Check it out
Thanks

RE: I got to show this off
Im with you on the whole polished look. it is to much but then again i have also done this whole wrench under the spot light in the back yard. and even better under the brite lights of a MAG LIGHT.
But the up keep on it to make it and keep it looking like that is not so fun. brushed allows ya to do clean up but not having to worry so much on makeing sure you dont streak it or get every littel bit.
But either way nice job!!
I also like the shop Just wish i had the cash to start doing this agian.
Also a place to build a oven for powder coating (this is next)

Thanks, I work full time and I was on 2nd shift that week. I had it apart buy 4am . The bad thing with the chrome stuff is it don't fit as nice and snugas OEM. I have always love the Monte Carlo.
I have three Chevelles and don't have the time to mess with them.
Again Thanks

Why don't you take the Auto-choke housing off and shoot it with a couple coats of "Chrome" paint!
That is an astonishing looking Plant. You're going to need a weeks vacation to clean it after it gets a bit dirty going to the show ... or, is this going to live in a Trailer Queen?

That is one nice looking powerplant.
So when do we get to seea few picks of these Chevelles you mentioned?
When not drooling all over my two Monte Carlos, I drool all over my toy collection. I kind of have a fleet of '57 Chevies.

I put her in yesterday. Nice and easy,,, It should have a little go.
I lightly opened the intake runners to the gasket. I did some work on the short side radius and %80 of the bowl removed.
XE262 cam, Edelbrock Thunder series carb above a ESP intake. MSD with a 50,000V coil. MSD 8.5 wires,, Acdelco rapid fire plugs. OK OK I'll stop .
I got the $850 BeCool radiator yesterday. The box was open and it was half hanging out. I was pissed. FedEx left it there like that. It was packed very well. The box was held by Big copper staples. You could tell it had been opened on purpose.
It is the polished one and it has little micro scratches,,,, what is a micro scratched I think I just mad that up .
Long story short,,, I got it taken care of.
