Default Hydroplaning?

I have a '05 LT and the front wheel drive is killing me. I hate it. In the rain, i hydroplane so quick in the smallest puddles. I heard there were tires you can buy or something that have to do with racing and shoots the water out. I was never able to find them though. Does anyone now what i can do to stop hydroplaning so much? My traction control does work but i cannot turn it on. It comes on auto.
Thanks

michelin hydroedges are designed for that....check them out, i have the goodyear equivalent to them.... the goodyear assurance tripletred...

tripletred:

hydroedge:

what you want to look for is something with a center rib and also a little wider center rib, its going to touch the ground the most, so wider will be better, check out those posted tires.

Try Tirerack.com - you can select summer performance and compare different tires and they also rate their performance. Goodyear F1s are a good performance tire.

If its that bad your tires may be to worn out "low tread" or the tread is going the wrong way. But i would go with performance tires i got sumitomos and i love em

Let me guess, you have the stock Goodyear RSAs???
Get some good tires. Those are some of the worst tires Goodyear has ever made.

Ok Thanks All. I do have the stock goodyear tires. I had my car a little over a year now and had to replace both of the front tires already. They were completely bald.

Yea, I would not say this is a problem because your car is front wheel drive. You just need new tires. As others have mentioned, go to tirerack.com, and look at reviews of tires your are considering. On most tires, there will be a scale, and one of the ratings is for resistance to hydroplaing, see how tires rank in that catagory, and others. Look for a good all around tire! Good Luck.
