floor mats and steering wheel
since wet nasty weather is upon us, i'm gonna need some good rubber floor mats. i kinda like the thick clear style because it'll hold crap and water/snow. black is preferred. any recommendations?
also my factory floor mat has a ugly wear spot where my right foot sits. any way to freshen it up, or is it best to replace?
lastly, the steering wheel. on the top it feels a little rough (from hand wear im guessing). can i soften it up with some leather cleaner and elbow grease?

Put a wheelskins on your steering wheel
I would just get any set of rubber mat and throw them in, taking your "summer" mats out.
I would probably say replacing it would be the best, but a local upholstery shop might be able to put down a piece of rubber and "fix" the spot.

If you get new mats, I recommend the ones from thefloormatguys.com they are good quality, and can put any writing on them you may want too. You can also pay an extra $5 bucks and have a rubber pad put on the drivers side right where your heel goes. I did, and its great!

my floor mat isn't worn through or anything. it's just the carpet in that area that has some wear and it bothers me. i look at my passenger side and it looks brand new which makes me sad
if i get new carpet mats it'll be the intimidator ones since the previous owner didn't order 'em.

I have these in my truck and liked them so much I bought a set for my Monte. They are deep and hold a lot of dirt and water. The set in my truck are between 7 & 8 years old and look brand new, granted I used to work 6 miles from home and didn't put very many miles on it but they are super tough and deep. They are made specifically for each make & model vehicle so they fit almost like factory, the Monte's don't resemble factory as much as the truck but the do fit nicely. I recommend them. If you're interested let me know I can post some photos, I'll pull out one of the originals that I have and one of the highland mats next to it or show how they fit in the car if you desire.
