Does anyone know how hard it would be to switch a 1980 monte rear bumper to a 1983 rear bumper?

Actually they should not be to hard to replace each other s parts between the two models.
80 was the year of the change to that body style. 78-79 were thier own even thoug you will hear diffrent very few parts from 80 will match 78-79.
Anyway the front ends and the rear bumpers should be a almost direct bolt on . if not a direct fit they are goign to be close to it.

ok then you have one of the left over 79's they called 80. so there for e you might not be in luck.

i was thinking you ahve the other style. it would have to have the same tail lights for it to work.
other then that it would have worked.
can i ask why you were tryign to do it in the first place? jsut apperances or do you need a rear bumper?
if your doing it for a custom look you can most likly modifay it enough to work and make it look ok but with out seeing it i am not real sure it would even look right.

its just apperances the way it looks to me is that it can be swapped and look right but the body lines wouldnt match up on the front so i cant do the front bumper unless i change the whole front clip. now as far as it looking right if i change out the deck lid the lights and the bumper it should all look like the 4th gens instead of the back end of the 3rd gen

if I buy a Monte Carlo SS Front Fascia With Lower Spoiler and attach it to my 1988 LS, is there anything else i would have to do to the car other than get fender extenders and move the headlights forward?
