oh..ok..i run an edelbrock air gap with a 1" plate...with a proform race carb. i have a big scoop and cold air box as sold in summit mags...

but with the K&N bolted on, it almost rubs the hole in the hood.

Prolly build another motor with a Twin Turbo Setup
That would be one killer set up.

The more I read on superchargers vs turbos the more I am thinking of going turbo. Can't quite swallow the $3K price tag though.

plus when adding a turbo, you have to change your exhaut manifold...your intake system...youre entire exhaust system...you have to relocate things, in some cases, to route the turbo piping...SC is the way to go.

PFYC has turbo bolt on kit for our Monte that are complete packages with no major modifications for $3K.

The other part of this that makes me nervous is the trans holding up to the added power, they claim it takes the torque from 190 to 300 ft lbs, the non SS trans is rated for 200 ft lbs.

i dont know how that would work, because to make a turbo work, it has to be inserted into your exhaust...which would, in theory make your factory exhaust too long, if youre using a stock manifold...plus turbo makes the car run lean so you have to do things to make the mixture more rich...i dont know.

haha..so there is heavy modification involved, but they include just about everything, or so it seems..

They make it look simple, but I have yet to run across anyone that has actually installed it.

showcars-bodyparts.com and vfnfiberglass.com both have cowl hoods for the 78. The first has a 3.5in hood that tapers on the top and looks nice. The other offers a 2 and 4 inch cowl hood. I just put a 192 blower shop blower on mins and needed the extra hood clearance too.
