A little of both. You have to remove the bowtie in the front which is bolted and is quite tricky to get off without taking the whole bumper off. My grill is just held on with two small screws.

I made it out of these door guards that you can get at like wall-mart. They are a plastic/rubber that can be installed on the edge of your car door to keep it from getting dinged up. That is what makes up the horizontal grill rods.
To keep attach them to the car I just cut some scrap sheet metal and drilled a bunch of holes in each piece of sheet metal. Then I just zip tied the chrome door guards to the metal. Then it is screwed to the bumper. Here are two pics to help you visualize it.

great lookin car you got there, every mod you do looks great! love the mount for the psp and the grill is american inginuity at its best. keep up the good work! i have to ask, though, whats up with the toggle swiches in the ash tray? does the lid cover them? someone mounted one under my dash as an enginefan override, blends in pretty good but i always whack my knees on it which is very annoying, so ive been looking for somewhere to relocate it thats hidden.

One switch is for the fog lights. The other for the LED light bars on the side pillars. I will be adding another one soon for the AMP. Yes, the ash tray lids still closes to cover them up. I just drilled a few holes in the bottom to feed the wires through.
