At the moment no. Still have some HVAC parts needed for the A/C i.e the interior controls because the 01 came with vacuum controls and the 06 come with electronic motor controls. kind of hard to find probly have to go brand new!!

I was looking around to see if this could be done. I passed up on a 5.3 motor and trans (22000miles) for 1200. And PASSED because I didn't think it would even work at the time.. But it got me thinking, so I started to ask around, but didn't want to look like an idiot, so I am super excited to see that it can be done... That being said, NOW I have to find another deal, and find or see if my mechanic can do it for a reasonable cost (I'm a tad handicapped, so I can't do it anymore) But the idea on the dash change is idea that I again, never even gave it a thought that that would fit, but.. I see now, just start asking.. Man. And Dredd, You did a GREAT JOB on this Monte.. I'm lovin it..

I would check the 04 SS Montes...I think mine has electronic motor controls....but you redid the dash and I don't know if they are compatible.

AWESOME SLEEPER!

I want an opinion though, I love the 6th generation Monte Carlo, and am planning on replacing my old one (that was totaled) very shortly. I would love to have a V8 "sleeper" like yours, so what is preventing me in theory from doing this the easy way (not implying that yours was the hard way)... I would buy an 06 or 07 and do a fender, bumper (dealership designs Intimidator bumper), hood and headlight swap for the 6th gen Monte Carlo.

Any opinions or knowledge of if this is a viable option. It makes sense to me. I honestly just dont like the 7th generation Monte Pala front end at all.

I dont think this would be impossible as the body lines and door profile are essentially identical.

So the 06-07 interior are direct fit replacement?
How well did the center console wrap around the shifter?

Thank you.
