New to this forum but not monte Carlos. My first car when I turned 16 was a 1980 Monte Carlo my dad gave me. When he had just a couple years before ordered and got his 85 SS, the first black one around. It had 3 mikes on it then and just 30k to this day.
Anyhow the old 80 monte did me well while I was 16-18. It had the old 231 Buick v6. Traded it for a 90 camaro when I got out of school. After 6 months I sold it dur to outrageous insurance. Being male, 18, and a v8 the insurance was crazy even with no tickets ever.
Then dad found me my own 85 SS which I got and would actually out run the camaro but insurance was 1/4 what it was on the camaro.
Since then I've had several SS's prob 12 or so.
Still own a 86 aerocoupe I've had since 1999. It has 13 just about 14k on it. Mint condition inside and out.
Few weeks ago I ran across a2003 SS for sale for 4 grand had 80k on it. It's black w/silver gfx, has stand up spoiler, sunroof, black leather interior,So I bought it, seems to be a decent car. Not very up to date on newer cars even though it isn't new anymore lol.
I'm more mechanically inclined to older gm v8 cars rwd stuff. Got a 89 iroc I've been piddling with for 4 or 5 years as time permits just to play with.
I work as a NASCAR race car mechanic and those things are easy as pie to work on. And get to everything unlike this new fangled stuff.
I'm sure I will have questions on the 03 that you guys can help me with. As I know the 83-88 SS like the back of my hand inside and out so maybe I can help some of you out as well.

Welcome, seeing as how you work with Nascar, I'm assuming you live in the western part of NC?
