Cool 2026 Love for the Intimidator custom Monte

Well here we are the first part of summer and I was able to go to my 1st Carshow and this one was usually fairly small but this year instead of about 80 entries there was about 197 entries. Needless to say I didn't get get any awards.
But I got a few after show pictures.

Definitely a bit jealous- just as your car show season is kicking into high gear, ours is coming to an end

Your car is looking super clean!

Thank you!
I can imagine because of the Summer heat.after College Graduation in 2009 my son and his fiance moved to Phoenix, Az. We were traveling to that area with a Penske Truck and cars getting them moved. Last night was in Flagstaff he was giving me some static because of the way I was dressed Jeans and a T-shirt he told me it was well over a 100 down there and I would be over dressed, I said I will be fine.
When we arrived his wife said to me who had been riding with my wife, that she didn't think the brake lights were working on the Trailer that had his Monte Carlo on it. or the lights on the truck too.
I said probably not I never touched them, the truck was a manual. But then you could have fried an egg on the black top in the apartment complex.
My son and his Father in law had tried to unhook the trailer and chains and were getting burned. Shorts and a T will do that, I took one of the furniture pads and laid it out and put my gloves on and the jeans protected me too. Got it unhooked and all was well. later I changed into some cooler.
It was a fun trip we went there a few times even to the Race.
He is back up here now, and our humidity here is challenging. haha

Hi Dean, you have your girl tucked away in a storage unit all winter? Can't go wrong doing that for sure. You do anything about mice getting in or do you not have a problem with them. My storage is perhaps 30 ft away from a drainage ditch and the associated overgrowth. Fn mice all the time. Didn't know if you take precautions against mice. Hear stories of car wires and rodents having a go at them.

190 + entries versus the normal 80, yikes, that does widen the odds of pulling a win. You kill me in that you take full advantage of being retired and attending a rather fair number of car shows. Need to emulate you, get the Monte out and about. Think in the past 5 years maybe 2 car shows and perhaps 300 miles. Sometimes it seems like a forgotten dream with it living under a car cover, rarely ever drive it like I used to, walk right by it, pay it no attention. How many awards have you taken home, seems like you win a fair number of times.

Your car for it's age is in awesome condition, hard to estimate its that far from new. You have done well with it, staying on top of the issues before they become ISSUES, good pmcs habits.

Really like the rare 5 spoke Earnhardt finish wheels, look sweet, fresh look, are they 17"? What size tires are you running, stock width or ? I'm having a hard time finding wide 16" tires, thinking of jumping up to 17's or 18"s.

Well my daughter offered to let me use her Garage so I moved and then we went to Texas for a couple of months and she asked if I would move it to my house while my grandson was home on break. She said she would move it back. I said no just leave it.
While I had it stored at her place, someone opened the glove box and didn't get it closed and the car battery was dead. so I asked her if she wanted me to leave for the summer and I went and rented a new place. Women are nosy and they live to snoop in the Glovebox or console. As fragile as the console lids are on these I didn't want to have it get broken. Or have them want to Test drive it and get hit.
Some people regard a Car as a tool and they treat it that way, I don't!! Lol
My daughters garage was a dirty place for a newly built house, my car was filthy there. I did get some stuff for mice a few years ago and it works great it is a repellent. Smells good but mice hate it.

Get this it works! I use it in the basement and crawl space the garage and I don't have mice any longer, I can't find the droppings any more.

I try to get to about 12 a year I used to win something like at least 8 awards but then things changed some the Categories got broader I think and then the carshow people started to hire out of state Judges to Judge the cars and all they know is a checklist, if you would ask them some about a Car they wouldn't know
So sometimes the category will be 1988 thru 2006, you can't use a check list for that but they do and Paint is the first thing so if you have a mid-90's daily driver and go up against a newer car you score will be low. That is wrong! similar to racing you should get a car link for slower qualifying time. Last year I went to 4 carshows and I got only 2 awards. One was with the Blazer. Another I got a 3rd place but have never gotten the Trophy, they never called my name at the show and then listed the winners on Facebook and it showed I was a winner, they said they would get me the award but I am not holding my breath.

It has like 200K on it all but 35k was from me driving it. last year I put new brakes on it and tie rod ends. and it works good now!

they are 17s with 235/55/zr17s that is what was on the Salvage yard Dale Jr car, 3 of them cost me 132.00 and I bought a wheel online at 175.00 and I got a matching close out tire for 50.00 for it so not to bad a deal. had to work for it at 79 at that time.

Lol, ya killin me Sarge, women are nosey, like going through glove boxes. I think they were looking for a condom, with that, you had better black light your back seat...

I feel ya, all it takes is some gomer to slam something shut, break a latch that is near impossible to find etc. So you up and moved it to a storage unit then, hope your battery took a charge, f'n new brand name professional ones are getting pricey, north of $200.

Lol, your daughters place was dirty for a newly built house. Isn't that the way of a woman, seems most everyone I know, my daughter included are pigs, they let things get so far gone, it overwhelms them to make a dent in the cleaning process, so they just leave it, yikes. I mean we all live, not always have to be home show standards clean, but there is a point, spend an afternoon and put the place back in order. Oh well, got to love em, how is Mrs. Biggleworth, she beat on you to not wash your greasy hands in the kitchen sink?

but then things changed some the Categories got broader I think and then the carshow people started to hire out of state Judges to Judge the cars and all they know is a checklist, if you would ask them some about a Car they wouldn't know

Man, that is a large spread, cars that many years apart, agree with you, no way that is a fair comparison. It's obvious the newer the less dings it will be scored with. Whats up with out of state judges being brought in? The organizers trying to squelch the cries of favortism local judges are prone to do? A few years back, car show remote area of Utah, cars, many a car came from significant distances. All awards went to the locals, one guy got 2. Many of us never went back to their event again. Welcome to the real world, a Monte getting 2 awards a year is usually outstanding, typically we get overlooked.

Mice are fickle, those scent repellents, people either hate or love them. I got this a couple weeks back "Pro-Pell" $100 a gallon, sprayed the **** out of it in my unit. Used a pump up yard sprayer, made about 1.5 gallons and emptied it, dispersing it inside and all about outside. Hope it works, also have sticky traps, bait bars, etc. Told storage unit managers they need to keep the bait stations maintained. Never see them out working, always in the office likely playing solitare on the computer or stroking their joke. You would hope they would want to stave off an infestation.

Again, those wheels are sweet, really like them. Good eye in that you happened up on 3 and the 4th for an overall fair price.

Well take care amigo, Cat Steven's, "Wild World" ...it's hard to get by just on a smile. Best of luck getting out and about. You miss not working for FEMA? Seems like they would have you jumping all over the country.

That es one thing that you won't need to do! something about when you get old it is difficult to go on point anymore.

Well I asked my Daughter if I went to her house and wanted to put the Car back in the Garage and one of her family was home she would want that car in the Garage so, I moved it. No sense getting in a huff over it.

Well the wife is a clean freak ( her sex is running the dam vacuum and the swiffer duster.

Very true, I think if they hire out of state Judges the local guys entering will have the same chance to win an award as the traveling entries, at least that is the appearance that it makes This last show I went to there was a 6th Gen Black pace Car MC, then a 1st Gen and a 2nd Gen there I am not sure how they placed for sure. I didn't see them carrying at Trophy back to there car.

I kept the other 6th Gen Diamond cut ones so I can switch them if I want to.

Well I try to smile as much as possible ( years ago some one called it the Cat that ate the Canary grin) Lol
That FEMA thing was pretty intense at times, I went to the disaster to get the job done, what I did is wrote grants for the damage that was caused by the flood, Tornadoes and other crazy stuff.
I was in St. Louis for awhile and I recall this one that some one else had reviewed and they didn't like it! They gave it to me and I looked it over and found that what the original guy who wrote it had made a bunch of errors and because of that I reduced it from about 21Mil down to 80K. It took the reviewers 2 weeks to find out that I did it right, and they cleared to to be signed. Lol saved the $ so someone could probably use it for something that Elon has found that was wrong.
I did see some really cool cars at some Carshows that I got to attend. The people down south would stare at me like they saw a ghost, I couldn't figure that out? seriously they would just stand a stare!!
