Will these 18s fit my 2006 Monte SS?

I have an opportunity to buy a set of these wheels on the cheap. Experts chime in, please. Will these fit a 2006 Monte Carlo SS:

Chrome 18x9.5" TSW "Kyalami" Wheels
Dual 5x120mm and 5x114.3mm Lug Pattern
35mm offset

I had the same in 18x9" (I thought) on my 2004 GTO and they fit perfectly. Surely there is even more clearance on the Monte, right?

I'm checking to see if they are 9" or 9.5" - I thought they only made the Kyalami in 18x9"......

Anyone know for sure? TIA :)

BTW - Still no 2006 Monte SS, just gathering pieces for the process. Already ordered the new Magnaflow catback ($625 shipped - wow!).

8.5" wide w/ a 255 series tire is about max width, so unfortunately, no they won't fit. At least not without serious modification.

If they are 9", maybe. but you might have clearance issues with the upper strut plate in the rear, depending on what tires you're running.

Yeah, those sound way too wide. I personally wouldn't take the chance.

i guess you'll have to try and find out, the 5 on 114.3 will fit, its just the width that scares me, i dont think you'd get those on there unless they're the perfect offset

They are 18x9, not 18x9.5.
The offset is 35mm, stock is 40mm - that's roughly 1/4" more offset to the outboard side, which would help inner clearance. But I lose that 1/4" in the width of the wheel (9" is 1" wider than 8", divided by 2 = 1/2", minus the 1/4" offset difference = 1/4". See? It's not that far from stock. Unless the clearances are super tight on the inner side of the wheels. I need 1/4" - 3/8" clearance on the inside for the tires not to rub.

I had the same wheels on a 2004 GTO and they fit very well. Came right to the fender lip, which is exactly what I want.

The only problem is, without the Monte, I can't do any measuring. That's how I made sure they fit the GTO - much measuring and calculating....

Anyone with a last generation Monte want to take a few measurements? :)

Not to sound cynical, but I don't think you should be shopping for wheels before you even have the car. lol

One step at a time man!

P.S. I LOVE your '72. The color is perfect.

I came to that realization this afternoon...WTF am I doing ordering things for a car I don't even have yet?? I know I'm getting one, just don't know exactly when

Are you still trying to get that Silver one from Libertyville Chevy?

RickAKATed10 04-24-2009 11:04 AM

I actually looked on cars.com and I couldn't find it any more...

SSilver 04-24-2009 04:21 PM

Yes, I was hoping to at least go look at the Libertyville one, but they seem to be playing games. I e-mail, they say it's available. Next day, call to double check and "it's sold"...Two days later, it's on their site again. I call and they said the previous buyer couldn't get financed, so it's back for sale. Next day, same thing - "it's sold as long as the financing goes through"....F-them.

Still looking...
