I asked a similar question a week ago. Refer to that post. https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=15348

i would not do 19x10 that will stick out too much plus you prob be rubbing. 19x8 or 9 might work better. why you want to go that wide anyway? just letting you know going that wide will put lot of stress on the tranny.

Its a 1978 with a 350/350 right now. The car is going to be lowered. I like the wide rear look!

Its all good lol. I know I can get a pretty large tire to tuck. Im actually thinking of a diffrent rim now. Its a 19x9. More of a modern exotic looking rim.

ive got an 80 the biggest ive fit without rubbing or modification is 275/60/15 on a 15/8 with 3.75 backspacing. im currently running same size tire no rub with 3.50 backspacing. thats on a 15 the diameter with the tire is 28" tread width is 9" so the actual width might be 10.5 11". if you run a taller rim you have an idea how much room you have to play with. heres some pics.

Nice looking monte monte man . I like that T/A aswell in the background. I guess I may be looking at 18 or 19x8s or a small tube.
