Vossen VVSCV5 Wheel

I literally just stumbled across this first image while doing some searches for something else and I think I may have just found my wheel. I absolutely love this look. It took me a bit to figure out what brand of wheel they are but after seeing a few similar style wheels I figured out they're by Vossen; Vossen VVSCV5 in matte graphite. They are available in 5x114.3 bolt pattern but they're only available in 20x9 and 20x10.5 which is on the wide side. Not sure if a 9 wide would actually fit well and look good on the Monte, i.e. not hang out of the side. Thoughts, opinions?

Matt, that's a good look! Would you have any issues with a 20x9 with your car being lowered?

That's the only thing I'm really wondering about; that and how they'll actually sit on the car. A 9 seems like it would possibly be too wide for the car. I'd like a little bit wider of a wheel, to give the car a more aggressive stance, but I don't want them sticking out of the side.

Yep, I always do my research before I buy. It took me a good six months to figure out what parts I wanted to use when I lowered the car. Thinking maybe going with a set of aftermarket wheels when I get my next set of tires so, since I just got a new set of tires installed a couple months ago, I've got some time. Thanks Space!

Actually, for size comparison, here's Matt's (Slugger088) car below with a 20x8.5. Looks like the wheels still sit somewhat within the fender but does sit out further than stock. I like the stance of his with the larger/wider wheels. That being said, I'm wondering what an additional 0.5" will do/look like.

Those wheels would look good if you could get a centercap with a chevy emblem to fit

Painted matte graphite to match the wheel, yes that'd look sweet.

Fitment on CarID says the VVSCV5 will not fit the Monte Carlo; not exactly sure why, maybe center bore or offset (since it's available in the correct bolt pattern). I'll have to give Vossen a call sometime soon and go over everything directly with the manufacturer.

However, the VVSCV3 does fit. Not as fond of these as I am with the VVSCV5's, but it's an option.

I like the Vossen wheels.

Did you come across the Foose Cruise wheels in your search? They are very similar in design. I don't know what sizes are available but it might give you an option if you like them. :)

I've looked at them before and I do like a few of his. I just feel like Foose wheels are more for older, or classic, vehicles. Plus, I want an all black/graphite colored wheel; I don't want any polished areas. That's hard to find in a design I like that will fit the car. I really like the look of the VVSCV5, and I'd be set on those, but if they really don't fit that's another wheel off the list. Like I said, it deserves a call to Vossen to see what's up.

with those spokes and large diameter wheel i hope you plan on doing a brake upgrade, if not theyre going to look silly. my brakes look absurd with a 18" wheel i can only imagine a 20 with even thinner spokes.

I don't even know if these wheels will really fit the car but a brake upgrade would be a good idea, especially if the space is there to do it. I've got a couple more years at least before I get serious about doing anything with wheels.

THIS IS A PHOTOSHOPPED PIC of the Vossen VVSCV5 wheel on my car and I must say I'd love these if it's possible. I have yet to really find a nice, all black wheel that I like; I don't want any machined parts, just all charcoal, graphite, or black in color. Not opposed to chrome but the black works; would be a mean look. Also thought about going a midtone on the factory wheels but something a bit wider would be nice. I don't know, like I said if I do wheels it's still a few years out. Just playing around with ideas right now and seeing what's currently available.

I like the look but a brake upgrade would be necessary

Would definitely be a head turner. Who knows though, when the time for new wheels comes around your tastes might change and another type of wheel would be "IT".

Yes, true and true. I agree.

Hey Matt,

I didn't see this thread until today. Wow, I really like those wheels too. Its funny because I was originally looking at the Vossen VVS084's but those ones are just as nice! Im surprised you found a picture with them on a Monte too!

Anyway, mine do sit out a little further than they did with the stock wheels. They are actually sitting flush with the fender. The 9 inch will obviously stick out a bit more but I doubt it would look stupid.

It looks like that Monte with the Vossen's had a brembo brake kit.

Hi `Matt, sometimes you just got 2 make `space > Where's there's a will, there's a way :):confused::thumbsup:..>You may have to mod & do some fabrication (LOL)

Yes, a Larger Brake upgrade would be a good investment...
p.s. I love your Photo Shop > Looks Super, but I still do like your factory rim's....Thanks for keeping your Monte Family updated
