upgrading bushing in front end.
 

My car needs to have most/all bushings replaced, and I am interested in using energy suspension bushings, i'm in line to buy the sway bar bracket bushing and the end link kit w/ bolt. these are the part numbers: 9.5167r, and 9.8125r. I have a 2000 monte carlo LS. i've read about fe3 and fe4 suspensions and looks like i have fe2. i'm still not 100% on what size swaybars i have.
I also want to replace the rear sway bar bushings but i'm still devating if i should just get the 18 mm sway bar by gmpp while i'm at it (51.00 at summitracing). I'm i using the right part numbers? has anyone gone this route?

I wish PST who makes PolyGraphite bushings (self lubricating) made rebuild kits for the 6th gen Montes....
I know people that LOVE the PST stuff and I heard so much good stuff, while restoring my '84 Z28, I have a PST PolyGraphite front end rebuild kit for it.

take off your bushings and send them to pst and say hey, make these, ill try to get a group buy, or something

For anyone who has been watching, i did replace the endlinks, though i had to exchange the part i originally bought (9.8125r ) for part# 9.8122r which has a 1" $19.99.
The install was very easy, took me about 20 minutes to do both. to take of the old part i used a 13mm wrench and a 13mm deep socket, ratchet, prybar (to push the sway bar upward at removal/install),
and a set of ramps. here are some pics

Well, taking off the bracket bushings was harder than i though because of the steering being in the way. I jacked up the car from the side but i also had to lift the car from the balljoint. i found out i bought the wrong part again, the part i need is 9.5171 for a 30 mm anti-sway bar and not 33mm. i called the dealership to verify the size and i do have a 30mm front sway bar but the guy could not tell me the size of the rear bar but that i do have a fe2 suspension.
I have to return the part at autozone, and wait for the new part to come in hopefully by this weekend.

do we have a bushing set at all? id like to go through and replace a lot of my bushings but im not seeing a complete kit

no, i haven't found any full sets but autozone has all the rubber bushing sold separately if you wanted to go that route. I'm having a hard time cuz i want the energy suspension bushing and i need the exact sizes.

This is the bracket bushing installed. It was a fairly easy install the two bolts are 15mm, on the driver side some metal fuel or brake lines are in the way.
The front looks very nice with the red bushings and the car handles much better though you can feel the rear swing in sharp turns but i'll get there soon enough.

I ordered the poly square motor mounts from wbodystore.com 29.99 was the lowest price i found. The really need replacing.

So, I've heard alot about vibrations and how annoying the solid top mounts could be but i bougth them anyway.
They were harder to install than i thought but grease seems to do the trick.
I've had the solid top motor bushing in for about a week and i really like them performance wise. the shiftin feels smoother, i don't have that clunk noice when i shift from drive to reverse, or the slight bump when i come to a stop and when i step on it , plus it looks baddass
but I really have hate comming to a stop cuz it feels like a have a car with 15' subs next to me. no sht. there is some thing rattling in the door now and on the dash. when i took my dad to work he thought there was something wrong with my car.
I dont' know if this is natural. I expected some vibration but this is very noticeable. my car idles around 600 rmp and it's a little rough it's not steady i've done the tune up recently tho.

I'm not sure what to do about it.
i'm going to leave it for now. and move on to the engine cradle bushing.
