Tire switch question

I have a '98 monte with 225/60-16 ties and want to switch those out and put on 205/65-15. Would this be okay? I know the speedometer will read different than my actual speed but is there anything else I should know or be worried about? Thank you.

The ones you want to put on are for 15 inch rims.. It wouldnt work.. I assume you have these extra tires on other rims but yea, unfortunately it wont work..

As WHT02Monte stated a 15 in tire won't fit on a 16 in wheel, but if you have a set of 15 inch wheel's they should fit without any clearance problems as GM did use 15 inch wheels from the factory.

Yes, all LS Monte Carlos from 1995 to 1999 came standard with 15" steel wheels that each had a 205/70R-15 tire.

So 205/65R-15 tires all around would work, even though they're a little different in height, which would throw off the speedometer a little. And if they're just snow tires for the winter season, it shouldn't be a real problem anyway. The 5th-gen Monte Carlo chassis is designed to work with either 15" or 16" wheel/tire combinations.
