Sway bars for 06-07s!!!!

So, I used to own a 2003 Grand Prix and had ordered sway bars from ZZPerformance for it. I never got the chance to put them on and I traded it in for an 06 Monte Carlo LT3. I figured it was the same frame, so there might be a chance they would fit without any real clearance issues. Sure enough those bad boys mated up and now I have a suspension that doesn't remind me of my grandfather's Cadillac. I figured all you guys with 06's and 07's would like to know that there are sway bars for you!

Great info. Info like this needs to go into the DIY section.

We really don't use that section like we ought to.

Did they mate up with out any problems? Clearance, fitment anything like that? Did they come with the hardware to install 'em, and if so did that all match up as well?

Yeah everything mated great. It came with new rubber mounts and tie rods. Yeah, forgot about the DIY section.... sorry.

I'm going to ask a dumb question, but I need to know. What is a sway bar and what is the benefit of adding them to the car?

SWEET!!!! Now all i need is a DIY and i'll be all set.

So 06 monte's and 03 Grand Prixs are the same platform?
Any more parts that are interchangable?

We design and manufacture sway bars for several applications. We are working on a new kit for the W-Bodies as we speak. That being said to answer your question directly you can view some of our literature below to explain it completely.

Here is a link to us testing a set on an Impala SS

what you are looking for is how flat the car runs in the corner and rolls through it. if you look at other cars racing (on other videos) and cornering you will see the front end and sides of the car diving/swaying and this unevenly throws weight around instead of evenly distributing it. Flat is fast!

same with the ls? In my mind I would say yes, but just want to make sure. My son rides in this car and would befit from it.

I'm 90% sure the LS is going to be the same platform. You'll notice when you take the stock ones out that the front bar is almost an inch in diameter already, but you are putting in an inch and an eighth diameter bar, so theres a quarter inch difference which, for anyone that knows about cross-sectional area, is a pretty big deal. As for where to get them, Grand Prix sway bars are everywhere, I got mine from ZZPerformance.com. And concerning a DIY for it, it's standard procedure for a sway bar swap, but I will tell you the rear bar will be frustrating to maneuver from one side to the other especially if you have the dual exhaust.
