Popping in Steering Wheel When Turning?

Hi everyone! I'm just starting to be more active on the actual forum again, and I figured that this was always the best place to come for some advice!

I'm experiencing some "popping" feeling in the steering wheel/column whenever I turn any direction at any speed. There was a point when it occurred only at low speeds and in one direction, but I think it's getting worse.

Has anyone experience this? I've read things like CV axle, steering shaft and ball/u-joint....Not sure what the cause is. Thanks for the help in advance.

I wonder if it's the ISS (Intermediate Steering Shaft). That is accessible under the dash at the end of the steering column (it is what allows the steering shaft and the rack not line up straight, it sits at an angle toward the firewall).
Might be a matter of remove it, cover it in grease, re-install.

Are you only feeling the Pop. Are you hearing it as well? If you are hearing it is the popping sound in the car or outside

I'm pretty sure there is a Technical Service Bulletin on this issue regarding the steering shaft.

I'm just feeling the pop, not hearing it, JC. I'll look into the TSB.

Grease up the ISS.

Jack the front of the car up, drop the cover from the bottom of the dash (be careful of the light wiring)

You should see a boot that you can pull back to expose the knuckle, and then spray white lithium grease on it, turn the wheel all the way to the left, spray some more, turn the wheel all the way right, spray some more.

That should get you through another year
