Plasti Dip and lug nuts

so i have a 06 monte carlo ls with the ss 18" rims. i'm trying to give my car a bit of a change and heard about how cheap and easy plasti dip was. does anyone recommend doing it or are there some cons to doing so. again i've looked into doing it and it's not expensive at all, but i don't want to risk messing up my rims.

the other thing is that i had some guy try to steal my rims last year and ended up rounding out the majority of my lug nuts. i've gone to the dealer to ask how much they would cost me, and lets just say i'm better off just buying new rims for that price. does anyone know where i can buy some full cover lug nuts for these rims?

Mine are 'dipped! I like it, cheap and easy way to totally change the look. I only did it as a cheap mod until I can afford the wheels I want

I used PlastiDip on my S10 Blazer wheels with good results. Just make sure the wheel is clean before you apply it. Wipe them down with acetone or isopropyl alcohol before you paint them. Several light coats versus a couple heavy coats will give better results.

If you have lug nuts w/external threads you can get the covers for $2.94 a piece/$58.80 set of 20. If you want lug nuts w/out external threads they run $4.24 a piece/$84.80 set of 20. Go to GMPartsDirect, select your vehicle then do a search for 'wheel nut cap'.

Personally I think you'd be better off getting a set of aftermarket lug nuts. I bought a set of Gorilla locking lug nuts (all 20 are locks) for less money then they want for the stock non-locking lug nuts.

Ok thanks, i'll try it out then. And same here, i'm just looking for a cheap mod until i'm able to get the rims i really want. i was looking at the gorilla lugs but couldn't find any with the inside thread. i'll keep looking though. thanks for the help...
