Default Need new struts, not sure what kind to buy

Hi all,
My car is at 131k and still running on the original struts. Its time...
Does anyone know a good set of all 4 strut assemblies for a decent price?
Links would be great.

Thanks all!
Sam

And,
This is probably a dumb question but is the strut assembly the same for all four?

Thanks again!

Hello SDowney, I went to the below website to replace my struts. I got all four Complete struts for just under $300 and replace them myself. I have put these struts on the front of a Saturn I use to have, did all 4 on my wife's Lexus, then did all 4 on my Monte SS. The Lexus and my Monte I did about 3month ago and I have been Very satisfied with the results. I recommend that if you go thru CompleteStuts.com you find your part numbers on the site then call them to place your order. That way you are not putting your credit card info on the internet.

NO, the struts are not the same all the way around. Your front struts are*sturdier than the rears and the tower braces and brake line mounts are different from side to side.
This site sells No Name Struts. So I have No clue who actually makes them. But what I do know is that I Luv the ride. And I would highly reckoned them to a DIY'er on a budget. And in all honesty, I don't care who makes them, just that they work the way I want them to. And they do! Good Luck, Enjoy and Drive Safe!

Bilstein's are very nice, high quality and probably one of the best, if not the best, brand you can go with for struts/shocks but you're going to pay for them. I have the Bilstein HD series struts on mine and those are about $230-250 a piece. The Bilstein Comfort series are a bit cheaper at about $150-170 a piece. Realize that, with Bilstein, that's for the strut itself and not the full strut assembly; i.e. no spring or strut mount. They don't sell full strut assemblies (at least for the 00-07 Monte Carlo). KYB and Monroe are two manufacturers that sell full strut assemblies.

Hello, I JUST installed the KKRB struts on my 01 Monte SS.. I swear it feels like a brand new monte !... I installed them last night and took it for a 75 mile test drive and was ecstatic on the ride.. Highly recommended. At least for the price of these, I don't think they can be beat.... IMHO.... Michael....

Strange, my 02 with new No Name Struts rides like a Brand New Car, and it cost me just under $300 and some Bloody Knuckles! I don't doubt the Quality of KYB or Bilstein, I had KYBs in my 88 IRoc 350. And they were Great. I question weather we are paying the big $s more for the Name than the quality. But don't listen to me, I'm the Old Fart who still wears Clam She'll Adidas at $65 a pair cause they are comfortable on my feet, still Look good and don't cost $150+!

A big reason I went with the Bilstein HD's is because I wanted something I knew was going to withstand the car being lowered almost 2" on them.
