If the hub was bad you would most likely have traction control issues as well, but I am not 100% on that.

I don't know about the speedo, what size tires are on the car?

Yea I figured I would have ABS or traction off lights if a hub was out. Car has 225 60 r16's on it on all 4 corners

Okay so it has the correct stock size on there. That was my concern for the speedo.

Unless a different size tire is still programmed in? But you wouldn't know that not being the original owner.

Well something that is weird is I have a average vehicle speed in the car display in the overhead console. And it displays the same speed as my GPS. So the car thinks its doing the right speed but the speedo itself is off...idk how that would happen

That average speed shouldn't fluctuate like that, it should be an average of all your driving. Example mine is at 28.7 mph right now.

Damn stop-and-go traffic.

I reset the average speed. And it showed my current speed and matched.my GPS. I do hear what sounds like a servo motor turning on and off from what sounds like its coming from the cluster area when I turn the key to the on position. And when stopped the speedo needle goes way below 0.

for what it's worth, my '01 Ls does not reset via the radio or the head light switch. took it to the dealer years ago, they had no clue. Only way to reset it is to disconnect the battery.
