The hub????

is there any good reason y my hub bearing would go bad so soon on my 07 monte carlo ss???? only has 40,000 miles on it????

you can hear a growling noise???

or the lights poped up on the dash???

the trac/abs lights are a very commen bs problem on theses cars.

i just replaced mine about a month ago, it was like 122 for the bearing, but i replaced it with the best bearing i could find. didnt want it to happen again.

Just to try and help out a bit I change at least 2 wheel bearings a week at work and sometimes more. Gm's aren't the only manufacturer with hub problems and it doesn't matter if it's expensive or cheap it will go bad again eventually. Alway try to avoid driving through big puddles or washing the wheels then letting the car sit. Drive the moisture out so the hubs dry out again. In a previous post I made water intrusion is the top cause for wheel bearing/speed sensor failures.

I understand the half shaft axle nut must be torqued properly to reduce failures.

john213la 04-13-2010 09:46 PM

after 2 long weeks without my car the dealership finally fixed it and it was the hub that was bad so if any of guys might have the same problem i had double check ur hubs!!!! :D
