Hey guys, I'm starting the rim hunt... Not something I'm going to get right away, but it is something that I'm going to start looking into and saving up for since the paint has chipped away just a tad on one of my current rims. (not enough to even be noticeable to most people).

I'm looking for 17 or 18 inch tire, close to the stock weight that I can throw a little bit of a wider tire on.

What would you guys suggest for a lowered car as far as tire width and everything?

My main reason for posting is because I want to see what you guys have for suggestions or if you guys have seen any listings in the WI/IL area for a 17 or 18 inch, five spoke tire.

I found these but they look somewhat like a Walmart special and have some tough looking areas to clean:



I'm still looking for something that is all black, or black with a polished lip.

Any help would be great guys, I am mainly looking for suggestions, I know what's out there, just curious what you guys would like to see on my car or what you think would look good on it

I think the rims you posted look like similar to your stock rims only smaller. Craigslist is your best bet, use a search site like search tempest to do a wider search. If you found something cheap enough a few hours away the road trip would be worth the savings.

 

Black with a chrome lip would look great. Especially if your lowering. I have my eyes on craigslist quite often looking for wheels but I don't have much luck in my area. Most are chrome and pitted beyond saving. (At least in my price range LOL) Best of luck with your search though.

 

I just put these on mine. As you can see the tires are wider. The rims were 18x9 and the tires 245/45/18 Nitto 555 Extreme Performance.

 

i wonder what some cragar or torque thrusts would look on a monte.

ive always liked the Bullitt rims on the Bullitt Mustang, maybe theres some aftermarket ones without the mustang logo on them??

 

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm going to start saving up for Bullitts. Not sure if I want to go gray with the polished lip or black with the polished lip... what do you guys think?

 

I love black rims, seems to be you either love em or hate em. I'd say go with black. Theres also tirerack.com if you wanna look around there.
