Help. bought new rims

i bought a set of 20 inch rims on ebay. they came with 245/40/20's mounted on them. the rims have a +45 offset. when we put them on the back and lowered the car, the strut literally sat on top of the tire. can anyone give me some help/advice? the rims came off of a 2007 chevy Impala.

Beat the hell out of the strut with a big hammer. Worked fine for me.

does the bottom of the plate tend to settle down lower after more miles?

the strut seat plating stay put and does not move. usually when the tires get miles on them then the tires won't be rubbing on the strut seating. i would check on the strut mounts to see if they go bad.

yes i am still on stock springs, struts and shocks. i asked the dealer that i bought them from if they would fit and he said yes, now im kind of screwed.

Im serious about hitting the plate, It really makes no difference on handling. If it still wont fit, you need to get struts from a 2004 monte ss or up, I think the strut plates are higher.

If the seller said they would fit, and they don't, why don' t you contact the seller and see if he will make it right?
