Default Help with 2006 SS plus tire size

I found an incredible price on some tires, but they are only in 255 45r18 size. Have any of you 2006-07 Monte SS guys run a 255 45r18 on a stock 18 inch wheel? The overall diameter is only .8% off of the factory 235 50r18. I just want to make sure they will not rub on the rear strut. I am sure some of you have done this, right? Thanks in advance.

I run a fatter tire on my 02 and just put wheel spacers on the rear so I dont rub the control arm. I wanted a bigger foot print for increased traction. I'm running BF Goodrich 255-50ZR-16 g-Force Sport and have no clearance issues when using 1/4 wheel spacers on the rear, none on the front.

Yes! They do fit! I just had a set of 255/45/18 Goodyear Eagle F1s installed on my Stock Wheels and they fit perfectly. I also installed new struts, so I made sure to check all areas for possible clearance issues...None.

The .3" difference in overall diameter is negligible.

I really like the look of the slightly fatter tire on the stock wheels. It is noticeable.
