Default Goodyear Eagle #1 NASCAR Tires

I finally ordered my NASCAR raised white letter tires this afternoon. $361.21 for two, shipped to my door. Only two because previous owner replaced two right before I bought the car. The other two are in very poor shape. Only two places locally were willing to try to order these tires. One quoted me $211.95 each, the other $198. Unfortunately, I'll still have to pay to have them mounted, but I still think I'm going to save a few dollars over buying them locally. I always thought Tirerack would be more expensive, but not in this case.
A couple other local tire shops told me they've been discontinued. They still appear on the Goodyear website and I emailed them to ask about it. No response as of yet. Does anyone know anything about this? I may have to purchase two more. I guess I'll just have to accept the fact that the Pace Car will be running blackwalls someday. At least then I can buy tires cheaper.

I have bought 2 or 3 sets there. I havent heard about discontinued. Better stock up. Gotta have them letters. I dont understand why noone else will make them. That is sucha popular tire. If they made them in 18's, Id be buying me a set.

Woohoo, tires will arrive today!!!
I ordered them Friday afternoon, by Saturday morning they were at the local UPS terminal about 30 miles away. If not for the weekend, I would have had them already. Regardless, that seems pretty quick!

So I guess they haven't completely stopped making them yet.
