Going through hub bearings

I have an 04 Monte LS and I seem to be going through front left hub bearings. When I go to change this one, it will be the third time. Can i get some suggestions on some possible problems. Wasn't making any noise till i recently put on new tires and got an alignment. Do I need to shim the hub? Appreciate any input.

What kind are you putting on it?

I agree with Warhorse, what kind of hub are you using? If you are using cheapies, they tend not to last. I have favored Timken hubs from RockAuto.com (usually about $100ish shipped to my door). I have yet to change a Timken hub on any of the cars I've put one on.

Also, inspect if you have any other suspension issues that could be adding stress to the wheel hub.

And lastly, are you sure the current noise is not road noise? Some tires can be noisy. I would jack the car up, wiggle the wheel in all directions and see if you have play in all directions.

I got mine from RockAuto as well, the OEM replcements ACDELCO FW293 {#88964168}, had read much on the internet about the Chinese/Korean ones failing in very short order.

I have also used the Timken hubs from RockAuto. Good product!

I also put a Timken one on my 2003 this spring. Got it on eBay for a little less than Rock Auto with free shipping. The Timkens used to be made in USA but the new ones are made in South Korea, hopefully the quality remains the same.
