Do I need a suspension upgrade?

I just got my 84 Monte running and on the road. It currently has a 289 V6 that is lacking in power.
If I was able to find a 305 V8 to drop in, does anyone know if the stock suspension would need to be upgraded or would it be able to handle the extra weight?

Thanks.

you dont have to, but you probably will want to put a set of coil springs in the front for the 305 w/ air, that will hold it up nice :)

289??????????[sm=dontgetit.gif]
If you mean 229 Wiz is right a set of V8 springs would be all that is needed. Unless you want a slightly lowered stance (I think it would be an inch or so)then leave in the V6 springs and have the alignment redone.
