Corvette Rims, Possible??
Im new to the forum and didnt get much chance to look around at all the threads, but i have a feeling that I wont find an answer to this question. I have a 2001 MC SS with stock rims. Ultimately I would like to put a set of these
http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/wheels/5350-c.JPG on it. I know from reading on here and on a few other sites that the lug spacing on the MC is 5 X 115, and I have also found out that the spacing on the corvette rims is 5 X 120. Im wondering if anyone knows if the corvette and MC wheel bearings are interchangable, if not, does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to work. I would be going with 18 X 8.5 or 19 X 8.5, or maybe a combination of the two, 18s in the front and 19s in the back. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Where it is possible to do alterations and changes, it's mostly the best to just find rims that you like that fit your car.
Also when you do staggered rims, it is very unnecessary on our cars, and it's also pointless to put bigger back wheels on a FWD car. It will add drag and weight in all the wrong spots. I went to tirerack.com (great site to see what fits and looks like on your car) and here are a few similar to the corvette wheels for probably 1/5th the price. http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel..._smi_ci3_l.jpg http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel..._mba_ci3_l.jpg http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel...k_z5_ci3_l.jpg I should also add, that if you really want a good corvette / RACE look, you can actually put corvette calipers on your car. One member SilverBullet has it done and it looks VERY nice. |
Mr. Burns LOVES those middle wheels!

You need those. Also I wouldnt put larger rear tires in back either. It will look dumb on a fwd car, although no one but monte owners and gp owners know that they are fwd haha |
