Best tire from Costco with stock 235/55R17?

I am going to go to Costco to get a good deal on some Michelins.

I am still rolling with stock 235/55R17 Goodyears. Those are bad tires.

Would you recommend the Michelin Primacy HP or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ?

Both tires were not getting very good reviews on tirerack.com
They were saying either it handled very loose, looked poor on the rims, and wore quicker than expected.

My recommendation, is to go to a tire shop, not a costco for things like tires. Also watch the speed rating on your tires, if they are recommended for fast speeds, I believe they need to be balanced in a special way, which not a lot of shops do.

Yeah... No offense, but I personally would avoid a place like Costco for tires. A member here got work done at Walmart and their wheels got all messed up from the balancer or mounter.

I am going to go to Costco, not Wal-Mart. The two do not compare in anyway.

Costco has Michelin certified techs and good equipment.

In fact, I had them install tires on my Corvette and I am very happy.

Costco also sell BFGoodrich tires. Hopefully they have something that is geared more towards the Monte Carlo.

You must work at Costco because they are both the same, my dog can get certified by Michelin. I'm glad they did your vette well but you don't get lobster at a truck stop. I like the ps if you have the dough.

costco / walmart besides...

the tires still didn't get any good ratings, check out tirerack.com with tire choices and see their online reviews. knowledgeable people.

Why we gotta be down on Walmart? I wouldn't recommend them, but I'd go there before costco. They did take care of that member (I forget who) with new wheels I thought. But anyway, a good wheel balancing is key. I had to get mine balanced 3 times because the first 2 places couldn't get it right. Go to a tire shop - look for a place with expensive equipment and 3M sticky weights.

I got the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S at Costco and I couldn't be happier.

Same tires I have on my Corvette. Corvette drivers seem to like them as well : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-run-flat.html

KidSpace, you're right!

lol.. I just realized I don't have any pictures of my Monte Carlo SS Supercharged, but I will share a couple of my vettes.

This is my 02 convertible that I put the Costco Michelin Pilot Sports on and love.

My New ZR1 when I picked it up at the factory. It came with Michelin tires from the factory because Goodyear couldn't make a tire good enough for a supercar. lol
