Default New rims/tires for a 2006 LT

Well I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get rims/tires for my monte. I believe I have stock 16" tires, if that is what the default was (I know I didn't get upgraded wheels). I'm thinking of going to 18" all the way around and found some ASA AR7 that look really nice over at tirerack http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand seems like a decent price $165/rim. My car is all black and I have tinted windows so I like the idea of a chrome/black rim. Trying to keep the whole package under $1000, anyone have any other suggestions on what else to look at? Also for the rubber, whats good? I live in California so winter traction isn't too big of a concern, though it does rain pretty heavily for a few days a year. Tirerack has hankook ventus s1 evo on clearance for $99/tire which seems like a pretty good price http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....cleSearch=true

Thoughts?

Steve

stocks are 16, another place you could look is victoriatire.com. ive been searching their selection and found that they are reasonable especially for their set(tire and rim). i just cant come up with the money for rims yet. plus they have a better selection than tiretrack to me!

There's another company called Discount Tire. I don't know if you have them where you live but they sell other brands of wheels like Koenig. If you don't have one near you, you can order them online at discounttiredirect.com.

So I see that on tirerack website it says about getting new tire pressure monitors to be mounted on the wheels? I don't think I need these because I dont have the SS computer function that can tell me individual tire pressure levels. Thoughts?
