5 x 4.5" (114.3mm) --> 5 x 115mm
 

It seems to be a common question but I get different answers wherever I go. Will the 5 x 4.5" wheel fit a 5 x 115mm bolt pattern? The 5 x 115 is incredibly restricting my choices of AM wheels, but would expand exponentially if I can include 4.5" (114.3mm).

If it doesn't fit, is there anything that can be done?

Has anybody successfully done it? What long-term issues will I have to look forward to if I go through with it?

They fit fine i had mustang rims on monte for awihle with no issues

A lot of people have used 5x114.3 with zero issues but it's not necessarily something I'd recommend.. There was once a time when I was going to get cobra rims that were that bolt pattern but decided against. Just to be safe, I won't buy anything that isn't 5x115.

It's a thread over on NAIOA. I don't know where the actual thread is (the search function is crippled), I had that in a word document with some other stuff that comes up frequently on that forum.

Basically, it might work for you or this might happen. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather not run the risk of broken studs...

thanks......I've been running the same set on both of my Montes and I haven't had any issues.....Yet

I find it funny that one person had that many studs break. With so many people running that bolt pattern you would think you would hear of people breaking them here and there, not just one person breaking so many. My opinion on 5x114.3 bolt pattern will remain unchanged until I see more people having a problem. Especially when I see so broken wheel studs on stock vehicles with stock wheels at work.

Do you really think people admit they break studs with the wrong bolt pattern? Over on ClubGP anyone that even hints that they may have broken a wheel stud with 5x114.3 wheels is ridiculed and told it couldn't be the wheels.

The way I see it is if the wheel manufacturers go through the expense of having both 5x114.3 and 5x115, you should stick with the right size.

That being said, my personal opinion is the people that run into trouble end up there because they have wheel hubs on the high end of the tolerances and wheels on the low end and it's just enough to cause an issue...
