255/60SR15 on '01 Monte SS

I'm planning on buyingBFG Radial T/A tires (255/60SR15) and mounting Bassett(http://bassettwheel.com/dhole_asphalt.html)15" x 10" wheels on my 2001 Monte SS. Has anybody mounted any similar size tires/wheels on there Monte? Any problems? I'm basically just wondering if I will run into rubbing or even fitment issues. Also, do you guys think the 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern will just sneak by? I know the bolt pattern is 5 on 115mm (4.527"). I noticed they don't have the correct offset though, so I guess there's a chance they'll be sticking out of the fenders. Maybe the 15x8" will be a better choice.

Also i'm pretty sure that the ride height will remain close to the same because of the size tires i'm thinking of running. Can anybody verify this?

Thanks.

255's might be kinda hard to get on there, i think the widest you can go without rubbing is 245

Well if that's the case, then maybe running 15x8" with 215/70-15 BFG Radials is a better idea. I'm afraid of losing some tire width though, which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place. Hmm.

why are you wanting to run such a wide rim on there?? 15x8 isn't but didn't you say 15x10?

you could put up to 245's on the 8"

i mean you could tryto put on the 15x10 and the 255 tires' and see if they'll fit, but you'll have to find a place thatwill be willing to return them if they dont fit

i guess if you could put 22's or 24's on a monte you can put 10" wide rims on, they would probably just stick out a little, cuz i think that the 22's are 9.5" wide with 245's or 255 tires on them

someone was posting a while back that he had 24's on his monte but he had to lift it to get them on, being only 15" you may be able to get them on, but they may rub

I'll take some measurements then, but the 15x10" on the site doesn't have the correct backspace. They've only got 3" and up, while the 15x8" has 2" backspace.

Can you really fit 245's on an 8" rim? That's good news. Tirerack has BFG's that are 245/60-15. Perfect!

i can't remember if my 20's were 8" or 8.5 but i had 245's on those, but they may have been 8.5's, so you may have to go 235's

i was thinking our wheel's were 8.5's

Arent those rims for a rear wheel drive vehicle? I tried fitting RWD rims to a FWD car, and there was no way it was working. I could be wrong tho. lol
Just curious, maybe I will learn something new.

I have outlaw IIsfrom an 88 Camaro on my 00 and it was a lot of trouble. Im not sure of the exact size off the top of my head but i know they are close. With the 15s in front youll prolly need spacers to clear the brakes which i recommend replacing yearly if you change the rims for winter since as they heat and cool they expand and contract and will warp crack and break and would be generally bad. My rears are 255 for sure and are outside of the wheelwell a good amount. This does cause clearance issues when taking dips/bumps/ hard turns at speed, and 10 times more with somebody in the back. Im saving for adjustable shocks that can be stiffened to alleviate this, but i dont know for sure yet. But they make a hell of a statement i think and can turn some serious heads, if you dont mind carry much more than one passenger and a toolbox, ill post a pic as soon as i can connect my camera.

With the lugs the AR rims has a universal fit oval shape hole. They fit but just barely, when i had the tires mounted on the rims i had to come into the shop to put the wheels back on myself. I also had to try a variety of lug nut types, the rears needed a mag wheel lug and the fronts with the spacers may require a longer lug otherwise youll strip the bolt. Youll want to check the offset too, thats really what going to determine the tires position under your car
