2002 Bolt Pattern Question

Ive seen that people say 115. I got a set Im interested in buying the guy says there 4 1/2 inch will that fit?

Budsjlm 10-16-2015 07:32 PM

4.5 is 114.3 you risk damaging the studs but with that said there has been a stupid number of W body cars running it that way for years without issue,

Nick Sorensen 10-16-2015 07:41 PM

what a w body?[/QUOTE]

Our 6th / 7th gen Monte Carlo's (2000-2007) are classed as a W-body car, believe it stands for "Wide Body".

GM used the W platform (W-body) chassis for a lot of FWD cars from 90's to present. Montes, Impalas, Regals, Grand Prixs....

So I got a 50/50 chance of those rims fitting?

ChibiBlackSheep 10-19-2015 09:20 AM

Find out what car they came off of. There's a good chance that if they are from a RWD vehicle the offsets will be bad and the tire won't fit well.

jsbihn 10-19-2015 10:14 AM

will the 06 have the same bolt pattern?

ChibiBlackSheep 10-19-2015 10:17 AM

The 06 does have the same bolt pattern, however the SS variant has a different suspension set up allowing the use of taller tires. So if you want an SS rim on your car, you have to run a 245/45/18 instead of the 235/50/18 that came stock.
