Default RIP Carroll Shelby

A major figure among us Ford guys.... a sad day for us in the FoMoCo world.

Carroll Shelby: 1923-2012 - Autoweek

I don't think any of us can deny... if it wasn't for him, us Ford guys probably wouldn't have had a good muscle car

He was a pioneer in the automotive world. The things he did made others do what they could to keep up. RIP Carroll Shelby

This is the first I heard of his passing. He is the second eternal young guy that I thought would live for ever. Dick Clark being the other. His passing a month or so ago was also a surprise.

Carrol Shelby was also a major influence over in the Chrysler camp during the 80's and 90's. I think Lee Iacocca I much to do whith that. Between the two they brought performance back to a brand that was struggling to survive and made some exciting cars out of what was mundane and boring. The Shelby Daytona's, Omni's, Shadows, and Spirits were some of the most powerful cars on the road at the time. I am sorry to see him depart.

He's not just a major figure for Ford guys. He's a major figure for car guys/gals in general. He did a lot more than just Mustangs.

I heard about this on the 6:00 news tonight. A major loss in the car world. He will be missed!

In heaven there's no speed limits, no stop signs, and you never run out of gas.

Sad to see him gone, but he lived a great life and accomplished tons!

Truly a god of the car world and he will always be remembered!
