Wanted to post two pictures of my 2005 Monte Carlo SS L67. I've always wanted one when I was a teen because I thought they looked so cool. Now, being 29, I finally purchased one last year and made it my own. Added the two black decal stripes on top, along with changing the entire exhaust system. Both the headlights and tail lights are brand new, black housing bought from Ebay.
Tires are probably my favorite. Firestone Indy 500 Fire Hawk tires, summer only. These things are hard as a rock and grip like no other. They look great.
The thing sounds amazing, and turns heads whenever I start it up and hear that roar. It also crackles like a cammed V8 when idling at 700 RPM. I plan on doing more mods to it next year, and will wait for the ZZP discount season, which I believe is Black Friday? Let me know what you guys think, and if adding black checkered flag decals on the sides as well would be too much.
Hi HKnuk -- your Monte looks to me pretty decent-looking as is. About the only thing I'd suggest appearance-wise would be a window tint.
Do the black stripes go over the roof and onto the deck lid? Hard to see from these angles.
As for the checkered side decals, here's a photo of the 1999 Indy 500 Pace Car Monte Carlo (a 2000 model, with Jay Leno at the wheel, no less!)
Even though the pace car decals are white, just for some interesting comparison / reference:

Yeah sorry, the decals are on the hood, top of the car and also the back. Thinking about it and looking at the photo, might be a bit much. Window tint is a great idea, definitely would add to that red/black look. Good call man.

Yeah that looks amazing, I'm assuming those are factory decals?
They were, originally. I had the car painted in the spring of 2016 and had them paint the stripes on exactly as they were, and buried under the clear coat. No more vinyl...
