Changed up the rims on my Monte

Needed new tires, my parents had a set of 06 SS rims laying in their basement, unused for about 5 years. I decided to steal them and change up the looks on my car a little.

I like them a lot more than I honestly thought that I would.

That's a nice look for sure!

Yeah, it's definitely nice! I might take my old rims to a company that specializes in fixing up rims, to get them stripped, examined, fixed if needed, and chromed.

Or I might just sell them off, and see what direction I feel like going in, in the future. With what little I drive the Monte these days, these tires will probably last me 5-6 years, so who knows what I'll want to do by then.

Nice, that's what I've got on my monte right now too!

I've always kinda liked a wheel that has a fair amount of "face", or "chunk" to it.

That, combined with the 18" size, makes the style of this SS wheel a perfect, up-to-date match for the "big-body" look of the 6th & 7th-gens.

Thanks guys :)

I'm still voting for the other ones, which look more custom. The '06 ones are nice enough, but it looks more thrown-together and not as identity strong IMO. Those other ones chromed would be b!tchin'

Yeah, I had a problem that I was chasing on the suspension of the car, swapping to different rims and tires was to rule out whether I had a bent rim or not. Turns out I had a broken sway bar and my control arms have seen better days.

I do love my old rims, which is why I still have them in my basement, but they are such a pain to keep clean and looking good for shows. Even keeping the car in a garage and never seeing rain, they get crappy so fast, that I spend hours polishing them before every single car show.

Doesn't take long for them to go from how they look on the right, to how they look on the left
