The guy is selling this car and has under 10k on it. He did an amazing job with this car. I saw this at a local cruise in.

10 K wow he must just sit in it and watch the world go by

Yeah thats what I was thinking. How do you have a car like that and NOT drive it. I dont think he will make his money back though, I say the most he will get for it is like 15k

chewytata 03-26-2015 04:19 PM

thers one in Hamilton Ontario hes asking 15 500 with 65000 ks don't know where the numbers come from but wish them the best

im sorry but chevys just dont hold their value that well even if they are special edition. I think once you have over 50k you can expect to get 3k-8k for the vehicle.

Let me interject a little bit I have had several friends that have made up these replica cars and then they want to sell them once they have gotten some fun & use out of it. Unless you are a Super Fan of that Driver you are not going to buy it unless it is cheap. The one that I have a photo with that is a Lumina the guy who made it passed away in 2010 and in 2012 his wife wanted me to buy it, She wanted 5 times the book on the thing and I said no, she has continued to call back and ask if I want it but she has had no luck in selling it.
When you decal the cars up it's about a 3 year life on the decals if you leave the car out side. They are now faded, and when you remove them there is a ghost pattern on the Vehicle. To remove the decals on that black 02 might take several days, heat gun and allot of elbow grease.:rotfl: I am taking donations though, so if the guy wants it to go to a good home...........just saying. :rotfl:

Do the decals always have a 3 year life? At phoenix graphix they have a spray that is a protectant for decals and it is spf 15, I would put that on my intimidator decal everytime I washed it

The fas cal is supposed to have a 5 year life, but in 3years driving and in the Sun it shortens them up, I have seen the actual results and the guys who have gotten the cars that I have done photo shoots with, are always fixing the stuff. I almost bought an 04 Monte last year in Missouri it was done just like that #3 car. it had less than 50k and they wanted about 6400 for it. I test drove it and I could feel the Trans do a little burp, a couple of times. So I passed on it. I could see some places where the decals were beginning to lift and curl at the edges.
I think if you kept it garaged and out of the Sun you could extend the life. I have one on the window of my Monte that has Dale's photo right behind my drivers seat and I keep it under a tinted piece of vinyl and it has lasted since 03 when it was applied. this is the one the #3 on the roof was starting to lift and the Trunk lid decal had some spots too.
Show Cars are fun but there is no money in them, they eat money, unless you can get people to pay you to attend the events and that is rare.

If I had a car like that with less than 10k on the dash it would be a trailer queen for sure. Not so much to keep the value up but just to be a show car.

This can be done but you need a money tree in the yard.:rotfl:
I put up that photo I found on the last post!
