Pretty much any small block chevy (SBC) engine can be swapped in and still retain all of your emissions equipment, including the computer.
For the computer to continue functioning as it should, all of the sensors on the engine must be retained. Some engines do not have provisions for all of these sensors or emissions functions (such as EGR).
For a 350ci engine swap, a new 350 specific knock sensor and spark control module must be used. The knock sensor is tuned for each block type's specific harmonic range, so using a 305 knock sensor on a 350 block will not work as designed.
Some engines, such as the big block chevy (BBC), and the newer Vortec SBCs require a little more work to retain the emissions equipment.
It is possible to have a new PROM chip made for your ECM to adapt the computer to your new engine setup. Refer to the few ECM chip manufacturers web pages for more information.
Always keep in mind your local emissions laws when swapping engines. Some areas prohibit the changing of the engine. Before you do anything, find out what the requirements are in your area.

wat if emissions isnt a problem with me. i wana do a 350 swap and remove my computer so i can use my edelbrock carb on it. do i have to buy a already carborated 350 or could i use a vortec motor and take off all the sensors and junk..

if you just wanna swap in a 350 and drop the comp, you all u need ie q vac advace dist and a non comp controlled carb ie, holly,edlebrock ect ect or non cc Q jet

wat about the trany lock up kit and the tv adaptor cable or w.e.. and whats the dif between the disi's
