Do some hellish tuning, and a CAI, you'll take him. Trust me.
Great story though, regardless, it thrills me to see GM cars on the road, and being FRIENDLY about racing as well! That is the TRUE SPIRIT of street racing! =)

What is "CAI"? How much would it cost to do that to my carand how much faster can I expect to get with that?

CAI = Cold Air Intake. There is a thread in the General Monte Carlo section that I wrote pinned to the top entiteld "FAQ: Exhaust and CAI".... read all about it
You could pick up 7-10 hp from it at the most.

Eventually I want to get some Magnaflows.
CAI, and a hell of a tune, you can see 275+ HP at the wheels...there are a few guys on this forum that are already doing it... and guess what? there's a new turbo kit that just came out for the 5.3... you can be smoking some more cars in NO time =)
Just takes a little money and dedication! =)

The Magnaflows are mainly for the sound effect when I hit the gas.Based on what I saw on youtube the Flowmasters are a little too loud.
If I put a turbo kit on the car and do too much other stuff, won't I eventually get to the point where I have too much power for my tranny to handle?

i always found that with anything if i let it roll off for a second then hammer it, it goes a lot better than from a dead stop, so i always ease into it for a car length or so then hammer it and can blow most things away with the new v8
