Deuce bags another stang (sort of)

I am on the way home from getting my hair cut this afternoon. In front of me is a blak Imtimadator Monte SS all black sharp... Along side me pulls up a white stang about a 2008 or so. It has Saleen body parts, buldgy hood and fenders along with the badges sounds like a Saleen, smells like a Saleen and wants to race the Deuce!!

The Imtimidator in front sees what is going on and moves over out of my way. So the Stang and I take off I am intent on looking for cops and other cars but notice the stang is out of sight behind me. Wierd I though she should have taken me easly.

Later on I went to Sammy's (The outside bar with hot cars) who shows up but the gal with the Saleen!! She is the sister of the bartender! Turns out she is runing a 283 HSP Saleen CLONE!!! Darn it burst my bubble. She congradulated me and we did a high five to hot cars.

Um, did you re-read the title of your thread? Am I the only one who had to take a second look?

1) Yes, I had to double-take the title too!
2) school a noob - 283 HSP (does that mean no power? and the reason for disappointment)

Yes it was an uneven compitition. Her stang did look good and sounded good though.

3v stangs = poop.

no other way to say it... they do take mods but not nearly as well as a 500 GT or something using the 4v system.

that said, nice kill! Im glad to see the person wasnt a complete douche... ;)

even though they did misbadge their car.... http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...ftyeyesxg7.gif

well heck i have a two valve 4.6 mustang i did alot of work to when it was stock or when it was going out of stock. i didnt think it was hot stuff. i didnt try to keep up with others to see how fast it was till after i did the tinkering. what i mean is i never tryed to take on some one due to not knowing how the others set up was do to not wanting to get embarresed. of corse i got on it here and there but it was after the rear gear full duals with shortys better intake manifold as well as a port polish on the heads as well as a better cams in it as well as a better throttle and a cold air intake. then i was doing the same but now it is the 5.4 two valve supercharged set up and i am happy just wish it was the four valve engine. but i sank all the money into this set up. now i just need to pay off every thing so i can play with the monte to set it up the way i want it.

I know it's barely note worthy, but years ago, when the '00-'01 Mustang Body style was the current style a friend of mine and I were on the way to Florida. He was currently driving and we were in my 4-door '93 Grand Am with a 3300 v6. We came across that current body type v6 Mustang (hard top, no passengers). He got the guy to race us a bit (was a rolling start since we were already traveling on the freeway).

I was dumbfounded with the A/C blowing two people in my Grand Am, we were creeping away from the Mustang. No mistaken, both these cars had the pedal to the floor. I know the v6 version of the Mustangs and Camaros are more for the person who wants the look but not the cost and wants better fuel efficiency.... But that current v6 Mustang can actually be beat by a '93 Grand Am!! OUCH!

Never hat on Mustang drivers Rick.... It's more fun to drive my Monte with Mustang drivers around.

I used to be a Mustang fanatic when I was younger I belive I have owned about 6 of them in my life time so far. Who knows I may own another in the future?????

RickAKATed10 07-13-2011 10:05 AM

Once you've owned a Stang the feeling neever quite leaves you. My second car at 17 was a 64 1/2 Mustang first year they came out. Course mine was far from new and I had to do a LOT of work on it. After that I owned a 68 convertable. There where others not as note worthy

But with my Monte I like to race the Mustang GTs I can take the older ones but the new ones that came out within the last two years would probably take me. I have a 5.3 2006 SS Monte

These pics are from MANY years ago just to prove I was once a Ford man tilll I tasted Camero

The one of me in the suit was in Detroit 1972ish, the one on the beach Daytona 1974ish, and the one in the Moutains in Tucson 1982ish

What made me go Chevy (Again some years ago)

Enzo354 07-14-2011 07:25 PM

Haha I double took the thread too, congrats on the win though! You owned some sexy cars man.

Btw I never want to own a mustang because 2-4v talk bugs me lol.

I love how misinformation like this gets posted on the internet over and over again until all the internet car people take is as gospel. It makes it funny when I blow their doors off in my "poop" 3V '05 GT.

...which, by the way, went 13.2 @ 105 with just a cold air intake and mail order tune. It now manages a traction/tune limited 8.0 @ 92 in the 1/8 and should do mid-high 11s next time I take it to the track.

Hell, mines not even that good of a runner as far as 3Vs go. Quite a few guys have eeked into the 12s with a CAI and tune only.

But yeah, they're are poop. LOL

283 HSP
I've owned 7 late model Mustangs now and I honestly have absolutely no clue what this means. What is 283 HSP?

All Im saying is that the 3v < 4v.

99% of things you do to both engines, the 4v will have larger gains. Im not going to lie, yes, modding the 4v in many cases is more expensive, due to the fewer amount of them. Would I mind a 05+ GT? Sure. Im not saying their bad cars, Im just saying Id love a 05+ GT that might have a 5.4 4v swapped in it. ;)

Well played... :P

Not going to lie... I would rather have a monte for about all of the 70's, and 80's over a mustang. The look of those... :(

even the fox bodies in the 90s didnt do anything for me, but the 5.0 was just a rock solid engine.

Those are some pretty nice pics though, I wish I had an older stang... maintain that "classic" feel. :)

Not owning a mustang for a long time I don't know. the gal that owned the stang mentioned 283 horse power or 283 cubic liters still either way not much compitition for the Deuce

werewolf-odst 07-15-2011 02:44 PM

good run mayne!!

TheMonteMan 07-16-2011 10:19 AM

the 3v is a fair match up against an ls4 car stock vs stock. should be a drivers race with the slight edge going to the monte just cause of the torque. theyre 300hp and shouldnt be taken lightly. personally i never understood why ford even bothered with the 3v. they should have run the 4v in the gt and the blown 4v in the cobras. like they did with the mach 1 and the cobra, and then gone to the new 5.0. the 2v motor was a total dog.
