3.8 SC vs. 3.9 LZ9 1/4 miles Race : )
yes and I live in IA too with a bone stock 3.9 and would love to watch or join ...
now that sounds funny...anyway, Mike I also noticed that with the TC off the motor still cuts out if the wheels are spinning, especially around corners. yours too ha?

Good post space. Knowing that he drags the car, I know he can't be saying that car is stock. At the very minimum he would have some kind of exhaust and intake mods. The only reason I would consider doing a 1/4 in my car is to get stock time and compare it to the reported 14.56. Which would probably be less, but still fairly accurate. (unless I leave in my K&N)
06LT3/Gabe: Yes, it does, and it's quite annoying when you're trying to make a statement, lmao! I asked the dealer about it and got some info. If you do happen to hit leave the TC on by accident, it de-tunes the engine (read: reduces hp) for an undetermined amount of time. While this admittedly has Nothing to do with the symptom we're talking about, it still contains valuable info. Back to the engine-cutoff, I haven't really paid attention to it. Have you noticed if the RPMs drop in conjunction? I'm trying to determine if it's an artifact of the silly clutch-operated differential in our transmission, or if it's the engine with the electronic throttle just backing off. or a combination of both, so rpms don't go crazy.

Well i did some tests the other day when it was raining. with the TC off it cuts the engine power a lil, I believe just to be safem so your car doesnt spin the tires at 6,000 RPM. With the T/C on, i was reading the manual and physically trying it myself, The RPM's do go down and the brakes get applied and the tranny is also used. I could go around a corner on slick pavement with it floored and i wouldnt lose control, it would do it so smoothly i could hardly tell it was wet outside (minus the high revs and lack of power) but I guess i will really apppreciate it when this winter rolls around!
Space: This is the first time I read the post and I'm not sure if anyone caught this as I just skimmed though, but the Monte Carlo never had the L32 engine in it...I beleive that first arrived in the 04 Grand Prix and stayed there.
The 04 and 05 Monte's had the older L67 engine in them that made 240 HP, not the 260 of the L32.
This all boils down to the GenIII M90 Supercharger on the L67 vs. the better GenV M90 found on the L32.

Hmmm no U-Bend on mine.... Oh that would be the new downpipe I fabricated.
All the Gen 6's from 2000-2005 Had the U-Bend.
I looked at a few of the 06 and 07's at a dealership (salesguys were looking at me weird.=< ) but I did see a bend there but not as bad. I'm still of the mindframe to cut it and replace it with straight pipe and an O2 Bung.
