Drivers side in-door speaker

Good morning all... I was just looking through the "For Sale" section and couldn't find what I was looking for... I am in need of the drivers side stock in-door speaker, mine is blown and sounds terrible:(... On the weekend my son put in his iPod and was playing some Rap music loud with heavy base and I heard it go:eek:... lol... I know quite a few members here have replaced their stock systems with aftermarket and I was wondering if anyone still has their stock speakers laying around (in good condition)?... Thanks in advance,:D

Dang, i just sold mine a little bit ago. You can find some decent sonys or something online though if you had to, just look for something with a lower RMS rating.

I think GM is still using their favorite 4x6 speakers in the front of the Monte (as they have done with LOTS of cars). www.Crutchfield.com is a great resource for that info.
If I might suggest, I put Pioneer 3-way 4x6's in the front of my '94 Grand Am (aftermarket JVC stereo). I never heard of a 3-way 4x6 before, but they sound great and to my surprise put out MORE bass then the factory 6x9's in the trunk!!! This caused a trickle down of me removing the factory 6x9's and placing 3-way Pioneer 6x9's in the back (had to get a small amp and picked up a cross over too). I'm pretty pleased with the setup (especially considering the low amount of money invested in the project).

If you wanna stay with stock speakers, hit up your local junk yards. Again, GM used that setup in a lot of cars, but I bet if you stayed with Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Impala and Regal, you'll find a perfect match.

gms not using 4x6's, i put some 6.5's in for them from kicker and they work great.

i believe the stock size is 5 1/4 though, i am not completely sure on this but my 6.5's were a little big and i had to modify the bracket.

if you go on crutchfield and use their chat, they are very helpful

If anything, the speakers look good.

Help - What should I get?

First off, thanks for all your help folks, it is really appreciated... So, after doing some research (bare with me, I'm a gear head and am lost in audio land... lol...) it looks like either the 5 1/4" or the 6 1/2" door speakers will fit with slight modifications, is this correct?... If so, can you guys suggest a specific speaker size & set-up (changing both door speakers & maybe the back 6X9's)... I want to run my stock head and amp, which speakers would work best with this set-up how many watts does the stock amp put out?... Is it even worth it to change the back speakers at this time?... I do like to play the music loud at times and like clear crisp sound, keeping in mind I'm not changing the stock head and amp... Hopefully this makes sense, thanks in advance for help...:D

I take back my 4x6 comment, trewyn15 is correct.
If you are going for an aftermarket speaker, CrutchField's website is an AWESOME tool! They will help you size things up by your actual car and help ensure you buy all the hardware you need to pull off a DIY installation.

Thanks, I've checked them out and it is very helpful... What I am struggling with is matching up the speakers to my stock set-up, mainly do I go for speakers that are rated 2-35 watts or 2-50 watts or 4-35 watts?... What wattage should I be looking for?... I know the stock amp is not very powerful so matching up the speakers is probably important, or is it?... Thanks for your patience,:D
