The time has come to sell my 2001 Monte. I bought a Saturn Vue. This forum is a great one!

I lowered the price to $1.100 OBO.

I went to get the inspection done today and the rear frame for the uni-body is rusted, if I don't get any offers soon I'll make a program at work and have the guys form up a channel to go over it, then I'll weld it up. The Northeast is not nice to our cars and trucks! I was surprised to see how much it rusted over a years time.

I made a channel to repair the rusted section and welded it in place. I painted it and sprayed rubberized undercoating on it to protect it. I also sprayed the other side. I will take it to get inspected next week.

I got the Monte inspected, the next day my son stopped over and his car is giving him problems. So I told him to take my Monte, that it's fixed and inspected. The next day he called and was so impressed and how smooth and responsive it was and that he will buy it. I'm glad he is because the new parts I have on it will be covered. So he got it for a good price.

Excellent, so nice to se a win win situation as good as this one show up for both of you. Some of you guys do get some extensive rust developing on your uni-body frame, control arms and such. Glad to see they accepted your repair method. Some places can be down right butt's to work with.

Thanks guys! I'm glad he decided to take it. The 3.4 in that car runs very well, it was faster then the 3.5 2006 that my x had. I even like the ride better. It's rusty but has never let me down. I bought the car for $3,400 over 5 years ago and it served well! I will have my son come over and fix up the rockers then put the plastic rocker covers back on.
