^^^^ Average Cost to Paint a Car Hi Member's, What would you pay to have your Monte painted ? Below is an article on painting, please add your thoughts & experiences on getting your Monte Carlo painted/repaired. http://www.consumer-car-reviews.com/...aint-a-car.jpg <ins style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: currentColor; width: 468px; height: 60px; display: inline-table; visibility: visible; position: relative;"><ins style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: currentColor; width: 468px; height: 60px; display: block; visibility: visible; position: relative;" id="aswift_0_anchor"><iframe style="left: 0px; top: 0px; position: absolute;" id="aswift_0" vspace="0" height="60" marginHeight="0" frameBorder="0" width="468" allowTransparency="true" name="aswift_0" marginWidth="0" scrolling="no" hspace="0"></iframe></ins></ins> When you need to have your car painted, there are a variety of factors that affect the cost to paint a car. So, how much would it cost to paint a car? If you only need to have a panel or two painted, then the cost would be drastically lower than having the entire car painted. Additionally, it is even more expensive to have a car’s color changed or to have premium auto paint and top coats applied to your vehicle. Unfortunately, there aren’t many corners to cut to reduce the average cost to paint a car. You best bet to finding a price that is affordable is to determine what you need and not purchase any additional services. The Best Cost to Paint a Car The cost to paint a car can vary from around $300 to over $2000, depending on the type of work you need to have completed. If you’ve replaced an exterior panel of your vehicle, and the paint doesn’t match, you will find that the cost is much lower. To paint an entire vehicle, the costs will vary depending on the size of the vehicle, the type of auto paint chosen and the company you choose to complete the job. Large auto paint retailers, like Maaco, can typically afford to charge less for their services than small privately owned service centers. Additionally, Maaco often offers coupons and special sales to further reduce the cost of painting your car. Cost to Paint a Car Black or Other Colors If you’d like to change the color of your car to black, or any other color that is not already present on your vehicle, you should expect to pay more for this service. Changing a car’s color requires a considerable amount of labor and additional coats of auto paint, which will add to the cost to paint a car. The average cost to paint a car a different color is typically around $2000 to $6000 depending on the type of vehicle you own. Choosing the Right Auto Paint There are different types of auto paint that can affect the cost to paint a car dramatically. A standard full vehicle paint job should include a base coat, color coat and a top coat, but that won’t stop your salesman from encouraging you to purchase the upgraded or premium auto paint for your car. To increase the cost to paint a car, your service provider may suggest that you spring for additional top coats, sealants, premium color coats or other additional services that you may not need or want. It’s important to remember that, if done properly, a standard paint job should be adequate for most vehicles. When the elements have done their damage to your car’s exterior, the cost to paint a car depend on the services that you require. The average cost to paint a car should always include a warranty or guarantee on the paint job, in case it starts to peel or fade prematurely. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...n/cbfdf5b4.jpg |
At one time I wanted to have Sally (Our 04 Monte SS) repainted. One very small crease in the rear fender was the only body repair needed. I was quoted 5,000 at Mason Auto Body for Met. blue. I never got it done
