Tinted my reverse housings

I just wanted to throw this up. It's nothing major, but the rear of my car is just about completed. Going to get a cheap-o tinted license plate cover (hardly tinted, just enough to take the drastic white off the plate) and when I get the time to clay/polish/wax this season, I'm going to debadge.

Pics suck, getting my Rebel XS back next month.

Special thanks to Flip for tinting these for me, he did an amazing job.

Looks really good, flip is amazing. Your car is coming together well.

jimbo7 05-17-2010 05:48 PM

this is just what i wanted to see. i'm wanting to black out the rear on mine in the next week or 2 and didn't know how it'd look with the reverse light tinted. i'm sure it's harder to back up at night though.

are your led tails brighter than the stock lights?

7801MonteMan 05-17-2010 06:28 PM

Looks good! I just tinted mine myself a couple weeks ago. Looks better on a Black Monte. I just picked up another set of reverse lights that aren't tinted to swap out. To me it just looks wierd on my red Monte. Are your reverse lights giving off any light that you can use. They look 2 or 3 times darker than mine.

Indeed a GREAT look, especially on a BLACK Monte. The ICPW tail lights look SUPER sharp as well.... I REALLY want a set someday! :) Indeed it's a great looking setup, keep those mods and pics coming!!

It's my understanding that Flip mixes paint and then clears them, they look factory.

I don't mind, Flip did me a favor and tinted them for free ;)

Yes. They honestly look perfect next to the paint, I couldn't believe how well they blended together.

To all the people who ask me if I can't see backing up, honestly I can't tell ya. Everywhere I park is very well lit in Philly so I never needed my reverse lights. I used to have LEDs in them but those didn't project either, so I'm used to it, and the LED tail lights that I have light up the rear of the car very well.

Thank you for the compliments :)

You could get the Silverstar reverse bulbs. They are definitely brighter and whiter.

ChibiBlackSheep 05-18-2010 10:14 AM

I got the GE NightHawk ST 921 Bulbs, I wish I could have grabbed the Silverstars but they were out, and I was impatient and thought these would be similar (they are not)

RickAKATed10 05-18-2010 10:48 AM

Those don't look bad though.

The Silverstars, from certain angles, show the blue bulb hiding behind the lens. It's pretty cool. You probably wouldn't see that though.

ChibiBlackSheep 05-18-2010 11:02 AM

haha probably not :P
