Ram air hood for the 6th gen

Was this hood in production?

This hood is similiar to other aftermarket hoods. So your question is kind of skewered in that your asking if it was ever in production. So while it's not a GM manufactured hood it is a aftermarket hood. Additionally note even though it says it is a Ram Air hood, it is obvious the air intakes are blocked and it will never deliver fresh air into your engine bay. So it should read "Ram Air Appearance". There are only a couple 6th gen hoods made that are true Ram Air.

Aftermarket so it take some fine adjusting to get it to fit right

Hahaha hey i know this hood! It is actually a hood of one of the monte carlo forum members on here. His name is Justin Crouch. Not sure if you have seen him on here or if he still selling it or if it is already sold. Havent seen him on the forum of the FB forum for quite a while though. It is not a functional hood but can be after a few adjustments. there is a member on here that has made this a functional hood as well and I think it looks great!

I had that hood at one point but sold it a few months ago. I'd say that's a fair price though considering shipping is outrageous.

If you like the look, go for it. Fitment wasn't perfect for mine, would have been a lot of money to get it fitted and painted. (I was quoted $400 to $800 in my area). I decided that a $1000 into a non-functional hood wasn't worth it for me so I sold it.

100% fiberglass hoods are hit and miss with fitment. Highly skilled fiberglass people should only attempt the install. + prep and paint, they get pretty pricey.

I hope to have an MPD-1 hood on my Monte in the near future.

That's the same style hood I have on mine, it's hit or miss as stated with fiberglass hoods. Mine wasn't too bad. There will be some fabrication measures that need to be taken when attaching the hood support hinges. Also it isn't ram air at all, would take a bit of work to make it so. I personally don't mind as I have a fenderwell intake and am not looking to modify a ton of things for a minimal(if any) performance gain.
