Good morning everyone... For those with a 6th Gen and are thinking of putting on Rally Stripes, here are a few learning's...

1) Stripe spacing for 6th gen... I initially would have liked the stripe space narrower, however because of the dual channel contour on our front hoods, the spacing is already forced... We discussed going into the channel, but it would not look right... Thus the larger spacing than normal... Still looks good in my opinion...

2) Stripe spacing in the back, he was able to cheat them together by about a 1/2", any more and it would be very noticeable...

3) Factory stripes (eg. PHOENIX) vs eBay... I bought my stripes from eBay... They were 3M which is a good quality vinyl, however the difference is fittment... The factory stripes are cut and contoured to the car which cuts down installation time by 1/2 at least...

4) Finally an observation and a question... I researched every Monte I could find with stripes and there seems to be a controversy... It is regarding the length of stripe on the rear deck lid (trunk)... I noticed that both stripes that went down to about 1" from our Monte SS emblem and the ones that went down to the trunk lip both claim to be factory installs... My question is, which one is official...

5) And finally with the eBay stripes it will be necessary to seam the rear spoiler in order to achieve the correct angle coming down...

Thanks and I hope this was helpful...

Wow Damien, that looks very nice. You are giving me ideas for my car now, as I now know exactly what it would look like

I like how they come down on the trunk lid as well

Thanks Ken... Better than Photoshop...... They would look great on your ride as you would have the full hood stripes...

Obviously Damien is getting his calendar photo ready! It's a great backdrop. But I would make a suggestion Damien. I humbly suggest when you take that shot, turn your wheels the other way (to the right) so we can't see the wheel, not the tread. Always try to square your wheels to the camera, like ohara's shot. Just my opinion, I'm no pro...
