ive been looking at plasti dip for a while now, doing small projects here and there with it. I wanted to do something big and ive read a lot about doing cars and since it seems like every other monte carlo in Michigan is red I would go with a color no one has ever seen. this was the results. before and after. the first picture was just coat one.

here are a few before shots of the car

owens91 09-09-2013 09:20 AM

Ok I will s dmit when I first seen the first pic I was thinking why did he destroy his monte. But now seeing these I will say it is a different color. Looks great. If you want to keep it color might I suggest that you add a few layers of clear coat. Also digging the neon lights, was so nice I had to subscribe to ya on YouTube

06mistreSS 09-09-2013 10:04 AM

:nono: Not a fan at all, especially the color, but hey it's not my car. As long as you like it I guess.

MnteCrloSS47 09-09-2013 10:06 AM

I like it! It's different :)

Leprechaun93 09-09-2013 10:06 AM

I'm not exactly sure, the shop where I got my mufflers done asks if I wanted them put on cause they just had an extra set laying around and I told them to go for it.

And thanks everyone I was looking for something eye catching, I think I got it. :)

Looks better in person it should be at the Michigan meet so you can see it in person

You don't need a garage I actually did most of it I'm my driveway, I would actually recommend doing it outside

Hiroska 09-09-2013 12:56 PM

Whered you get your spray gun? And did you mix your own paint or did you have plastidip do it?

got everything at dipyourcar.com

everything you need is in the kit, I bought the pro car kit with 3 gallons but it could have used 4. and everything is premixed, you can mix to get your own color though

Not my kind of color personally, but It does look different. I have been looking at dipping my car for a while, But I think for the longest time all of there stuff was a matte finish. But now I see that they have some glossifiers (clear coat) to make it shine. I'm personally not a fan of the matte look, so no that I see that I'm really thinking about doing it. I have a lot of paint chips in my front bumper and hood, so I think this would be really nice to help cover that up along with creating a one off Monte.

That's pretty freaking cool man.......Looks decent also, nice vid!

Cocky3800 09-30-2013 11:24 PM

Just an FYI, plastidip eats away at clear coat. So if u were ever planning on doing a plasti-peel off, i wouldnt. Clear coat may be destroyed depending on how long it stays on. Looks cool though!

plasti dip don't eat clear but it will peal up clear that is peeling already. ive painted my roof and never had a single problem with plasti dip and clear only real problem is where I had clear peeling around my rear window and you can tell the dip lifted it but didn't eat it.

That looks sick! Black wheels would look sweet with that color too, maybe glossifier too?

Digging the Cudi at the end btw ;)
