Plasti dip vs custom wrap

So i was just curious which would be better. Plasti dip or dupli colors custom wrap. I bought the custom wrap and the carbon black looks so sharp on my rims. But i want to know if it is durable or not. I know for a fact plasti dip is durable. ?

I may come off as a little old school here - but I'd say paint, powder coating, plating, or polishing are the only acceptable coatings for a wheel.

I'll say up front that I'm not a fan of plasti-dipping anything car related. I don't like the finish, and when it starts getting little spots peeling off. I've also seen quite a few that seemed stained with brake dust - dunno if it just traps it more, or if it's harder to clean off.

Vinyl has been done on wheels for years now to get crazy complex printing patterns on there. There are a few downsides: depending on the wheel, it can be extremely time consuming to wrap the whole face. There can be a lot of tight turns and compound curves that take a good deal of time to heat into place.

My other issue is that it doesn't seem to hold up well on a street car from the people I've seen try it. Between the heat, brake dust, gunk and scuffs that tend to happen to your wheels it just doesn't seem to hold up as well as vinyl does elsewhere on the car.

Hence my suggestions for something that will last.
