Painting
It's a discontinued Paxton Novi CSC kit that Stattama used to make.
I got lucky. Someone here was parting with the blower, and Stattama was actually demodding a car at the same time. I was able to piece MOST of the kit together, had to have a custom shop do the last 10% of the build for me, where they need to custom make me brackets and such on a lathe (something I don't have).

I had the fog light bezels (normally chrome) painted black to match the car when I had the front end repainted (at a local Chevrolet dealership) early last year. The black is a subtle change but it makes a huge difference. Most people can tell something is different but are stumped on exactly what it is until I tell them.

Painted my brake calipers and brackets last year; went with Dupli-Color's aerosol can of black caliper paint and shot three light coats. From the factory, the caliper brackets are bare metal (both front and rear) and the calipers are bare metal in the rear but are painted in front. To paint, I unbolted the calipers (with the brake line still connected) from the brackets and completely removed the brackets from the car. My opinion is you can do a better quality job of painting, and get a much better finished product, by removing the parts to do the painting. Painting them all black cleans up the appearance.

Recently had my engine cover painted by a local custom auto shop. Went with a Corvette Z06 look and the red contrasts well with the black. It's been getting a lot of interest and compliments.

Thanks! I'm most likely going to leave the Chevrolet bowtie emblems alone. Although, I have thought about doing the black inlays for the SS emblems but just haven't gone ahead with it as I'm not one-hundred percent sure I want to mess with the originality of them. Maybe sometime in the future.
