Monte Carlo name plate install questions?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Folks, I just picked up a couple of "Monte Carlo" name tags from a local Bone Yard. I'm tired of my drivers door saying "Monte Carl".
Yes my name badges are on the Doors.
So i know how to take the old one off without further damage to it or my paint. And I know that I have to use Double sided tape to install the replacement. Question is, is there a Spacific type of double sided tape I should use for the install!

Use 3M emblem tape. ,And GM didn't install the Monte Carlo emblem on the door in 2002 ??

Jerry, I know the Emblems should be on the quarter panels for my 02. They were on the doors when I bought my Monte. I like it there cause it not only give it a Unique look but also adds to the forward motion look I like. I also have one for my trunk lid. I want to put that one in a spot that wasn't offered in 02. But then I may just leave it bare. Just put a Red Chevy emblum on the right lower side of the lid?
Thanks for the Heads up on the 3M emblum tape. I didn't even know there was such a thing.

you know they also have emblem glue, its a bit easier to put on than tape IMO

The Emblem glue sounds like the way to go Owen. Now I just need to find an "SS" for my Trunk lid and 3 4" Minions in a Burnt orange to put underneath my emblems!

It might be easiest to contact ZSPOT and see if he can get you the badging brand new. I did that with my Monte (I wanted to add silver/gray Monte Carlo badging next to the lone SS logos on the '04 model and change the blue trunk one to silver/gray).
Brand new, it has custom cut double stick tape (and that stuff is strong). No glue to squish out or trying to custom cut your own tape.

I know they were more then a junk yard would charge, but they were not very expensive in my book.

Here's a thread with ZSPOT's contact info (I've contacted him and made orders from him multiple times):

Thanks Jason. I actually found a beat up red 6th gen in a bone yard here in town. I was able to get 2 "Monte Carlo" emblems of the quarter panels. But the "SS" was gone. And it had the Surf Board trunk lid. But I was able to also get the right tail light housing. Mine was dull and cracked. I also had a can of Black Semi Gloss. So i painted the one missing the tail on the "O". Just to see how it would come out.
Anyway, if I can get the "SS" from him, that would be cool. Then I just need to find the Off colored Minion to put under them. That Wil be the only mods I will do on the sides of my car. I don't want Tazz cause that would be Perpitrating! Then I want to get the Grill and paint the lower grill Black as well.
I tell you, "IT NEVER ENDS"
